Being a business owner sounds like a fantastic proposition....Right? Indeed it does! The freedom to be creative, to choose your work hours and the thought of financial independence are quite seductive, pulling you in just like a romantic infatuation. But what happens when the romance phase of building your business is over, the challenges hit, you get derailed and BAM!...your business is suddenly under fire? You are snapped off track, your growth stops, the competition takes you by surprise, and your business is starting to run you (not the other way around). You are left scratching your head and wondering "What the heck just happened to my business, and what am I going to do?" This 3-month program is going to specifically answer that question (and many others), and we're going to answer it in spades. We will be dissecting the 12 most common business conundrums, providing you with scores of tips, strategies and resources on how to achieve business success through driving your own behavioral change. This is BIG!
We (Bea and Carol) both know what this situation is like. We've been there...we've lived this situation...not just one time but many times in the last seven years. We've earned medals for being stuck, getting derailed, flattening out, and we have moved beyond it to incredible results in our businesses. We are not going to preach to you...we're going to tell you how we've done what we've done, because we want you to succeed in business. It's just that simple! And at the same time, we are not going to talk up in the clouds, hoping to have you love us...we're going to be shooting straight from the hip, calling a spade a spade and doing and saying anything and everything we can to make sure that you get the results you want. Here is what you will be doing:
1) You will be attending a group call each Thursday from February 22- May 10, 2007, from 1-2 p.m. Eastern, co-led by Bea Fields and Carol Dickson Carr. Each call will be focused on a key business strategy. (See the list of classes below). You may be thinking "I know all of this information", yet our approach is very different. We are actually going to not only teach you the "how to" of each strategy, we are going to look closely at the thinking path around the mental and emotional challenges with each and provide you with practical strategies you can use starting today to move through that challenge in the direction of getting the results you want in your business. We will be spelling out the strategy for each business issue in spades, and we will be honing in on the behaviors we know are necessary for success with each business strategy.
2) You will be going through the 360 Degree Feedback process. During this process, we will be gathering feedback from your colleagues, mentors, clients, team members and family members to find out how they really see you as a business owner. While this is often very tough feedback to hear, this step is critical in your success cycle. The way people perceive you as a business owner can crack the code for you in understanding the blind spots and derailment factors that are standing between you and your ability to succeed.
3) You will be coached by both Bea Fields and Carol Dickson Carr, each for 30 minutes each month. During these calls, we are going to be asking very big action steps from you. We know what it takes to be successful, and we are going to be stretching you and challenging you like you have never been challenged before. This program is not for people who don't want to be challenged, so if you are someone who gets your feelings hurt easily, this program is probably not for you. We are not going to say what we think you want to hear...we are going to say what you have to hear in order to be successful.
4) You will be communicating online through our community forum with your classmates. We will also be assigning buddies for those of you who want to work more extensively in a buddy situation. (No...we are not assigning buddies, because we have found that assigning buddies does not always work...some people are really committed while others are not...this choice will be up to you, and we will make those assignments on a first come, first serve basis).
5) You will be spending time in our online resource center between calls, working through the field work, answering assessments and studying the class resources. As you know, we (Bea and Carol) are the resource queens, so we are going to provide you with every resource we can put our hands on so that each question you have is answered and so that you can quickly put your hands on the resources you need to be successful in your business. We want you to finish this program with incredible certainty and confidence around your ability to reach your business goals in 2007.
